Partnering with Silanis Technology, Teachers in Ontario and North Peace Savings in B.C. have given their members the ability to open an account or secure a loan without having to visit a branch.
“Providing the ability for our members, who are dispersed across a wide geographic area, to sign documents from anywhere creates an edge that allows us to compete with larger financial institutions,” said Kathy Clark, vice president of sales, service and operations at Teachers Credit Union.
North Peace Savings will first add e-signatures to retail and commercial lending applications, then to account openings, using a click-to-sign method. “We’re taking our business digital to help reduce paper and to unite our widespread membership, making it convenient for them to access our services,” said Mitchel Chilcott, CEO of North Peace Savings and Credit Union. ◊
